Welcome to Newport Police Department.  The mission of the police department is to strive to insure that Newport is a place where people can live, work and raise a family within a safe and caring community, where law enforcement is seen as professional, courteous, and progressive.  Our core values of Integrity, Professionalism, Fairness, Respect, and Teamwork are not just mere words, but the very fiber that holds our organization together.  We realize that building, cultivating, and maintaining the community’s trust and respect is the key element in reducing crime here in Newport.  Although technology is certainly an asset in today’s world, it can never replace the value of our citizens sharing information with our officers.

We invite you to interact with the community and our officers through the numerous volunteer programs we have within the Newport Police Department, such as the Community Emergency Response Team, Volunteers in Police Services, or Neighborhood Watch. We ask you to determine which program may be best suited for you and join us as we continue to strive toward our mission.

Thank You,

Chief Clark
